I. Sexual Psychology

Modern scientific research shows that sexual behavior is essentially a psychological phenomenon. A person's psychological state is mainly influenced by the social environment, reflecting the social nature of human sexual behavior.

Sexual psychology refers to the psychological activities during various sexual behaviors between the sexes, and consists of cognitive processes, emotional activities, volitional activities, and personality traits.

1. Sex, gender, and gender roles

(1) Sex: Biological differences between males and females. Differences in sex chromosomes, gonads, sex hormones, reproductive tract and external genitalia, and secondary sexual characteristics.

(2) Gender: The psychological differences between men and women are mainly reflected in personality, temperament, feelings, emotions, and intelligence.

(3) Gender role: refers to the role differences caused by gender in social life.

2. Gender identity

(1) Sexuality: can be divided into maleness and femaleness.

Masculinity: The proportion of masculine characteristics in a person;

Femininity: The proportion of feminine characteristics in a person.

Sexuality is related to sex hormones in a person's bloodstream, living environment, and varies with age, education level, and nature of work.

(2) Gender identity: Whether a person identifies as a man or a woman. Some people have gender identity disorder.

3. Psychology of Mate Selection

(1) Value orientation of love: spiritual satisfaction type, sensory satisfaction type, functional satisfaction type, material type, vanity type, practical type, exploitation type, etc.

(2) Psychology of love: psychology of seeking beauty, illusion of love, psychology of exclusivity, psychology of seeking novelty, psychology of heartbreak. Psychology of heartbreak includes: decadent type, alienation type, revenge type (self-frustration, encountering setbacks, public opinion setbacks, family setbacks).

(3) The ways to form a love relationship: love between old flames, love while living together, love by chance, love through intermediaries, love through information, and love between adversaries.

(4) Psychological factors for successful romantic relationships: compatibility (constructive, compliant, destructive), loyalty, trust, and moderation.

4. Sexual perversion

(1) Abnormal number of sexual intercourses: hypersexuality, frigidity.

(2) Abnormal sexual objects: love fetish, animal fetish, necrophilia, narcissism, etc.

(3) Abnormal ways of satisfying sexual desires: exhibitionism, friction fetishism, transvestism, voyeurism, obscene language fetishism, masochism.

5. Homosexuality

Absolute homosexuality, relative homosexuality, situational homosexuality. Main causes: physiological factors such as genetics, psychological changes during childhood, and factors related to learning and imitation.

6. Psychological sensitivities in different age groups

(1) Child sexual psychology: playing with genitals, asking sexual questions, and enjoying sexual games.

(2) Adolescent sexual psychology: menstruation, spontaneous ejaculation, sexual dreams, masturbation, excessive attention to body image, Oedipus complex, Oedipus complex.
